Mészeg Hill, which defines the border of Pákozd, has been a significant site through various military events over the last four centuries. Notably, in 1593, Turkish forces led by Pasha Hassan were defeated by Hungarian knights near this location. Additionally, on September 29, 1848, Mészeg Hill witnessed Hungary's first victory in the War of Independence. During World War I and from 1944 onwards, the area served as a section of the Margaret Line. It maintained its relevance as a crucial military site during peacetime when the Hungarian People's Army commemorated Armed Forces Day from 1951 to 1991.
